Hi, I’m Sam Virdee.
My journey into design began as a serendipitous combination of my father's background in construction and my mother's expertise in sewing. Design has always been a part of my DNA, and it took some introspection to realize that interior design was where I ultimately wanted to end up.
As an accomplished residential interior designer with 5 years of experience, I have a passion for transforming homes into beautifully designed spaces that reflect my clients' unique style and personality. Through my extensive knowledge of materials, color schemes, and design trends, I am able to create functional and comfortable environments that enhance the overall quality of life for those who inhabit them.
My approach to design is collaborative, taking the time to understand my clients' vision and needs, and working with them to bring their ideas to life. I believe in the importance of communication and attention to detail, ensuring that every aspect of the project is carefully considered and executed to the highest standards.
Raised in London, England with roots in Kenya and India, I have long been inspired by the vibrant colors of my cultural heritage.
Currently, I reside in sunny San Diego with my best friend and husband of 27 years, as well as our two beautiful daughters.
A functional approach
Samsara Interiors was founded in early 2023, deriving its name from the Sanskrit word that symbolizes the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. This name resonated with me as it aptly reflects my personal journey to becoming an independent interior designer, having worked under other designers and mentors to refine my skills and product knowledge.
My passion lies in not only creating beautifully designed spaces for my clients to love and enjoy, but also in considering the practicalities of everyday life. I take pleasure in educating my clients on my design process and the rationale behind my choices of materials and layouts. Often, clients are unaware of the untapped potential of their homes, and it brings me great joy to unlock the hidden beauty within.
Our Services
Full Service Design
If you are wanting us to collaborate with your contractor to execute the design, we offer 3D conceptual renderings, elevations, design concept boards along with purchasing and install. You will have a completely finished, beautiful space and styling in the end.
We will be with you every step of the way.
Our full service interior design service begins with a $299, 1.5-hour home consultation. We take a tour of your home and discuss your vision for each space. You may choose to have US assist you with the next steps, or embrace our ideas and complete your vision. It’s up to you. In the end, you’ll receive a project proposal.
Designer for a Day
Designer-for-a-Day is an in-home 1-1 collaborative intensive design session created to help you design, shop or style your space in a short amount of time. This service is great for clients who need help finishing a room or two, or need guidance selecting materials for a construction project. We'll send you a shoppable list for you to make the design a reality.Do you need help finishing a room and want a quick turn-around time? Ever wish you had a personal designer just for the day? Our Designer for the Day service will be a great fit!
We work with you to create a master design plan and shopping list with links, then we turn it over to you to order and install.
